As with any event, its success depends on volunteers. And, because we want to make this a spectacular experience for the runners and everyone involved, we are asking for volunteers. Although we know of the main areas where we will need volunteers, I’m sure other opportunities will arise as we get closer to race day. Here is a list of “jobs” for willing volunteers:

  • Aid station captains
  • Aid station workers (some stations require a 4-wheel-drive vehicle)
  • Trail guides (to be positioned at trail junctions to show the way – some stations require hiking/running to location)
  • Trail markers (folks to help mark the course the day before)
  • Race day packet / bib pickup (430 am set up)
  • Set up
  • Take down
  • Help manage runner food at finish line
  • Finish line
  • Photographer helper
  • General helper
  • Ham radio operator

If you’d like to volunteer for the Frenzy, please send me an email: jenny@foothills50kfrenzy.com. Thanks!

If you’re still looking for volunteers, I think it sounds like a blast. I’m a runner who has been pampered by LOTS of fantastic volunteers in the past and it feels like it’s time to give back. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.

I am very interested in helping out with the Frenzy. I am an injured runner, nurse, and need a project for “Community Health” class at Boise State. I would like to be aid station captain, or provide medical assistance on the course. I have done both jobs in the past at races in Oregon and Washington.

Please contact me, and let me know what I can do to help.

Interested in volunteering if you are still looking. I have done a little of each of the duties listed above in other races. Can help out with anything that day.
    Thanks, Ben
